REA JET at Motek:
Optimization through Coding and Marking

Muehltal, October 02, 2015 – Product marking with machine readable codes enables automatic identification of items and thus creates the basis for the traceability of production. Information about the product, turnaround time and inventory are always available. Logistics and warehouse processes become transparent, the flow of goods will be accelerated, control and optimization of all processes in production and logistics becomes more manageable.

At the Motek REA Elektronik shows maintenance-free ink jet and laser systems to mark on virtually any type of material in high resolution. Laser technology creates a captive, permanent identification and is therefore ideally suited for Direct Part Marking (DPM) of components. DPM enables automated manufacturing and mounting control, traceability and limitation of faulty batches, the counterfeit protection, and compliance with standards according to customer specifications.

REA JET systems can be remotely controlled, parameterized and monitored via standard Web browser over the Internet or the corporate network. Both the high-resolution systems from HR-series and the laser systems feature alongside an event-based innovative and asynchronous communication interface, user-programmable digital inputs and outputs. These allow easy and reliable integration into different production environments as well as various host systems. Important requirements for implementation of industry 4.0 and interconnection of machines and equipment.

The operation and handling of REA systems is done via a cross-technology, user-friendly operating concept for laser and high resolution inkjet systems. Both technologies use the same user interface and can be operated via touch interface. Unicode UTF8 encoding in communications as well as the full support of TrueType fonts are among the standard features of the REA JET marking systems. Another important prerequisite for industry 4.0 for data exchange of devices without any adjustment.

Furthermore, REA shows at Motek coding systems to mark even the smallest components with machine-readable data matrix codes, colored quality marks and alphanumerics. These markings assist in the identification, qualitative examination and the correct installation of the respective products.

DataMatrix codes printed onto products at the REA booth can be immediately checked with systems from REA VERIFIER regarding data content, code type and code quality. Visitors are invited to bring their own codes for a live quality check. This quality control of codes in combination with high-quality printing technology guarantees the best possible process reliability.
