Optimizing processes
with REA JET

Muehltal, 28th October 2015 – The realization of industry 4.0 makes metal working companies and their suppliers face major challenges:  For the networked manufacturing the equipment and software must be precisely coordinated and integrated into the process chain – only like that a flexible, efficient production is guaranteed. Sustainable coding and marking systems by REA JET consider these requirements and therefore can be easily integrated. They mark metals with graphics, texts and machine-readable codes, herewith providing the basis for the automation and traceability of production.

For industrial, contact-free marking in harsh environment REA JET has sturdy in their portfolio, which convince with reliability and minimal effort in maintenance. The large character ink jet printer DOD for instance tolerates vibrations and temperature fluctuations from minus 5 to plus 45 degrees Celsius. Its housing fulfills the requirements of protection class IP65 and protects the printer against water and dirt. For extreme production conditions, there is the DOD with reinforced housing, heated print head, in compact design and as special edition for potentially explosive areas. Special inks complete the offer including fast-drying, excellent adhesive, colored MEK-inks as well as inks that are able to infiltrate an oil film.

For captive and thus forgery-proof marking of metals, REA JET has the fiber laser FL in the portfolio. Its high beam quality and energy density allows the DPM process (Direct Part Marking) applying the smallest characters and ensures great legibility of the marking on metal components. The CO2-laser REA JET CL on the other hand can create a captive, sharp-edged inscription by taking away a lacquer surface of a colored patch which was applied before by a REA JET spray mark technology system.

For both systems REA JET offers a laser booth, which is in accordance to the laser safety class 1, and while regarding the safety instructions can be integrated as manual workstation in the production. To mark them, the articles can be placed on a height-adjustable table. It’s even possible to install both of the laser technologies at the same time in one cabin.

At the trade show there will be a live demonstration of tin can marking via ink jet and laser. The systems are controlled and operated wireless via handheld tablet PCs. Also on display is a spray mark technology system for applications such as weld line marking, cutting lines and quality marks. Furthermore, metal components such as shopping cart coins, keychains and tweezers are personalized and coded on-site with a DataMatrix code using the REA JET FL fiber laser.
