In logistics, transport labels are used to ensure that, within 24 hours or, in the case of express shipments, even faster shipping units reach the consignee without errors and without delays.
This is an important element in the "just-in-time" supply chain as well as in online trading with very demanding customers in terms of delivery times. The coding can be used to automatically identify the destination including house number and the shipping units are automatically sorted correctly. A serial number (tracking code / license plate) tracks each shipping unit and it is always possible to trace where a shipment is currently located. In addition to increasing efficiency, this also covers the "lost consignment" aspect.
